League fee is $900 per team and the umpire fee is $25 per team, per game ($50 per doubleheader). One Umpire for the regular season and two umpires for the post season. There is a $10 per team umpires travel fee if a game is called for rain at the field. All league fees must be paid in full by June 1st.
Number of games played will depend on the number of teams in the league. All games are doubleheaders played with a 1 and 1 count. Playoff format will be determined when the total number of teams is finalized. Typically all teams make the playoffs or we have a play-in game. League starts the second week in April. The start time for each doubleheader is 6:15 with a 6:30 forfeit time. If a team forfeits a game, they are responsible to pay the umpires fee for both teams ($50). This forfeit fee must be paid prior to your next game. All teams are required to have a set of bases. The home team must provide the bases for the doubleheader, and the visiting team must provide a courtesy base. Each team must supply one (1) softball (Clincher F12) per game. Seven innings will constitute an official game, unless darkness or rain prevails, than five (5) innings is an official regular season game. If a playoff game is postponed while in progress, it will be resumed at the point from which it was stopped. Run rule is thirteen (13) but each team must bat a minimum of five (5) times. The run rule also applies throughout the playoffs. This year, the Inn League allows both EH's (no limit) & one (1) DH (Designated Hitter), if so desired (not mandatory), but there is No Re-Entry Rule. EH (Extra Hitter): If used, the manager must inform the umpire before the game. The EH may bat in any batting position but does not play the field. The EH may go into the field & take the place of a fielder at any time during the game. The fielder then becomes the EH, but the batting order remains the same. DH (Designated Hitter): If used, the manager must inform the umpire before the game. The DH may bat in any batting position but does not play the field. The DH may go into the field to replace a fielder, then the man he was batting for must bat himself. Batting order always stays the same. Fielder who was replaced is out of the game. Each team is allowed up to two (2) Courtesy Runners, the Manager must inform the umpire before the game. More courtesy runners may be allowed as long as both teams agree. For safety reasons, metal spikes are not permitted. League has noticed that players and managers have been very disrespectful and sometimes abusive towards umpires. The lnn League will not tolerate a lack of respect for an umpire. Ejection: If a player is ejected from the game by the umpire, he is out of that game plus one more (the next game.) If the infraction is severe enough, the league might issue additional penalties. |
